Food, Lodging & Travel

Our accommodation is located at our dive resort in Tianyar where we are treated to views of the sunrise over the ocean in the morning as well as breathtaking sunsets behind the Mt. Agung volcano in the evening. We offer twin same sex rooms for all participants.  All rooms have individual fans and mosquito nets installed for your comfort.

Enjoy our private pool and lounging area to relax during time off throughout the week. We also have one classroom area where we meet in the afternoons to process the data we collected in the morning and work on our fish and coral ID together.

The nearest beach and snorkelling point is right on your doorstep! The world-famous USAT Liberty Shipwreck dive site in Tulamben is also just 20 minutes away by car.

On days where our coral reef restoration programme runs, the local chefs prepare breakfast, lunch and dinner made from fresh ingredients from the local market. If you inform us of any dietary requirements our local chefs will do their best to cater to you.

We have Wi-Fi on-site, so you will easily be able to stay in touch with loved ones.

The minimum age requirement for our coral reef conservation programme is 17, although anyone below the age of 18 will require a signed permission form from their parent or legal guardian.

Anyone deemed fit enough to dive by their medical professional is suitable for this coral reef restoration programme.

Medical information

All divers will need to read, complete and sign the PADI Diver Medical Form to ensure they are fit for diving activities. Answering “Yes” to any of the first ten questions on this form will require a doctor to complete and sign the Medical Examiner’s Evaluation form (please ask for a copy of this if you think this may apply to you).

Anyone with any pre-existing conditions that could affect their stay with us should disclose these when they apply and reiterate them to the management team when they arrive.

Arrival to Bali

Your port of entry into Bali should be at Ngurah Rai International airport (airport code DPS) in the South of Bali. If your flight arrives on Sunday then we can also organise for you to be picked up from the airport directly. For those whose flights land before Sunday we recommend that you use the opportunity to take some time to travel around the South of Bali before we pick you up on Sunday.

Our drivers are available to take you to and from various locations on the island in your free time. Bali is a beautiful place to explore and we want you to make the most of your time here. People generally choose to travel in groups to split the cost of travel outside of the programme.

Entry into Indonesia

Remember to bring your passport and make sure that it is still valid for at least 6 months.  You may also be required to show proof of your confirmed travel out of Indonesia 60 days after entry.

Indonesia’s Visa On Arrival (VOA) is very easy to apply for, and they have an online eVOA available to apply for pre-departure. It costs 500k rupiah and last for 30 days and then can be extended for a further 30 days if required for around 1 million rupiah (~£55). Longer stays are possible but are significantly more difficult to organise.
