Climate in Langebaan
The climate in Langebaan is mostly known for its infrequent rainfall, dry countryside, and high offshore winds. The area receives most of its rainfall during winter and has a Mediterranean climate with temperatures from September – November reaching lows of 12oC and highs of 20oC.

The spring/summer months of September – November are when the famous wildflowers bloom that the West Coast is renowned for. Although the lagoon is relatively warm, the open ocean is cold thanks to the upwelling in the Benguela ecosystem, so mist occurs regularly and sea days can be very chilly if there is no sun. Essentially, the sun is hot but the sea and wind are cold.
