Useful Information About Thailand

jungle_gamesThailand is a gem-filled country that offers beautiful landscapes, friendly people, delicious cuisine and an undeniable sense of adventure.

The project is located in Chiang Mai province which offers bustling markets, hidden temples and tranquil natural landscapes.

Weather
It’s very hot during the day, April to May generally being the hottest, June to October is the rainy season so very wet, and November to January is still hot during the day, but VERY cold at night-time while out in the jungle. February & March is known as the Smokey season, farms are burning their old crops and it can affect some people. Wellies & disposable raincoats are readily available in the city. Lots of socks are recommended. Bring any clothing you like for when you are in the city.

Clothing

Karen people are very conservative so appropriate attire is needed. Whilst in the village shoulders must be covered, nothing short so at least knee-length shorts are needed, trousers give better protection from mosquitos. Nothing low cut and no midriffs showing. Thin long sleeves are good due to the mosquitos at certain times of the year.
