For 2026, the costs are as follows for 2 weeks:

19 April: £680
3 May & 18 Oct: £725
All other May dates & 22 Sept & 4 Oct: £770
All other dates: £815

Some special beginning/end of season discounts apply to the following 4 week 2026 start dates:

19 April for 4 weeks: £1170
3 May & 4 Oct for 4 weeks: £1255
17 & 31 May & 8 & 20 Sept for 4 weeks:  £1390
All other dates not listed above for 4 wks: £1435

This cost includes accommodation in the volunteer apartments shared with the rest of the team, transfers from Kefalonia airport or bus station to the project on your start and end dates, a researcher t-shirt, ongoing training and project operation costs, snorkel/fins and rash guard (for the coastal project), crockery, and cookware.

The cost does not include your travel to & from the project (i.e. flights to Kefalonia), food, travel insurance or personal expenses. It is mandatory for you to take out travel insurance for the duration of your stay.

For the sea turtle family programme, the programme structure is different – all dates & costs can be found here for the 6 day hatchling/educational programme. ** Pls note, for the family 6 day programme accommodation is not included **

 

Payment Terms

Volunteers on beach in GreeceTo secure your volunteer placement, you will need to complete and submit the online application form including your application payment of £195 (included in the total project costs listed above), and please also email a recent photo of yourself to the volunteer coordinator at victoria.mcneil@workingabroad.com. If for some reason, your application is not accepted, we would reimburse your application payment fully. However, for those who are accepted, one-third of the full balance amount needs to be paid within 7 days of being confirmed on the project, with the remaining balance to be paid two months before your arrival. If you apply with under 2 month’s notice, the full payment is due in full upon confirmation. Once your place is confirmed on the programme, you will receive pre-departure information with all further details on your project, travel info, suggested items to bring and so on.

Project Dates

We currently offer the Sea Turtle project in two different project locations in Greece, Argostoli & Lixouri. You can join either location for either 2 weeks or 4 weeks and start on the specific dates listed below only.

The Marine and Coastal conservation programme in Skala & Svoronata begins in June and start dates will be every second Thursday through to October.
