Amazon Forest Rangers Volunteer Programme, Peru

I was very happy with the Forest rangers programme, everyone from the staff to the rangers was super nice to me and included me in all activities; they would explain their work to me, show me how to use things from their daily work and just treated me like one of them; also communication with Dina and Liselot before, during and after was super easy, so overall I can only recommend the programme to anyone.

I had an amazing time volunteering with the project. I spent twenty days with the Rangers their remote cabins in the middle of the Amazon. Each day we would depart on patrols in the jungle, on patrols as well as monitoring illegal loggers and poachers. We walked upward of 10km every day and helped build structures in support. None of the rangers speak English, so communication was tough, but we made it work. It ended up being one of the best experiences in my life.
