Payment Terms

To secure your placement on the project, you will need to complete and submit the application form with your application payment of £250 (included in the total project costs listed above). If for some reason your application is not accepted, we will reimburse this payment fully. However for those who are accepted, you will be required to pay the remaining balance 1 month before arrival.

For interns, once your application has been received and if we wish to proceed to the next phase, we will carry out an online interview with you.  Once your place is confirmed, you will receive a pre-departure package with all detailed information on your project, the region, suggested items to bring etc.

Project Dates

The dates below are just a guideline and we can be flexible if you want to start/leave on another date than those listed below.

You can join for a minimum of 2 weeks up to 12 weeks in duration as a volunteer.  We recommend that you try to join for at least 2 weeks if possible, which will enable you to gain a theoretical and practical understanding of the marine environment, and you would be able to implement some research methodologies during this time. Going out at sea is dependent on favourable weather conditions – so the longer you join the better chances of having calmer days at sea.

If you join as an intern, you will need to commit for at least 3 months in duration. Internships are all year round, but you can specify the dates you wish to apply for in the application form motivation letter section.
