What’s not included: your flights/trains to and from Spain, travel insurance (including dive insurance), visa (if required), transportation from lodging to the project placement (all volunteers purchase their public transport card which costs around €23, and they have unlimited trips on all public transport in Barcelona for one month. It also works for the airport), or return airport transfer (though we can arrange this if you would like, at an extra cost) and your evening meals.

To secure your place as a marine conservation volunteer in Spain, you will need to fill out the online application form along with your application payment of £195 (this is included in the total costs listed above). If for some reason, your application is not accepted, we would reimburse this payment fully. However, for those who are accepted, the remaining balance needs to be paid two months before arrival. Project Dates

Below are the available starting dates for each location. You can volunteer in Spain for a minimum of 1 week up to 12 weeks maximum.

Arrival is every Sunday from May to October. It is on the second and fourth Sunday of the month for the rest of the year. Due to the nature of the protected bay where you dive, you can dive all year round.

Sunday is your arrival day. Monday is your orientation/city tour day. Tuesday is when you will start volunteering/diving/dive training. Everyone leaves on Saturday (check out at the hostel is by 12pm).

If you wish to join for just one week or over 2 weeks, this is possible. The dates listed are defaulted to 2 weeks, so please just specify this in your motivation letter when you apply online.
