Project Costs

Wolf sanctuary in PortugalThe cost to join this project for 2 weeks (12 nights) is £599 for a bed in the 4 person room (in the 6 person cabin).  For a bed in the twin room, its £699 for 2 weeks (12 nights).  The entire twin room is £1055 for one person.  If you would like to arrange to book the entire cabin as a group, please email us for further details/pricing.

The project costs cover your accommodation, pickup up and drop off from the bus station near Mafra, weekly house cleaning, bed and bath linen, orientation, training and supervision and weekly transport for grocery shopping.

What is not included are your flights and travel to and from the pickup point in Mafra, visa costs (if required), meals, personal expenses, and your own health and travel insurance. Personal sightseeing during your free time is also not included, but our staff are happy to advise you on the best things to see, transportation options and so on.

Payment Terms

To secure a placement volunteering with wolves in Portugal, please complete and submit the online application form including your application payment of £195 (included in the total project costs listed above). If for some reason, your application is not accepted, we will reimburse this payment fully. However, for those who are accepted, the remaining balance needs to be paid two months before departure. Once you are confirmed on the project, you will receive pre-departure information with further details on your project, when to arrive, contact details, suggested items to bring, programme information and lots more.

Project Dates

The volunteer programme is available from February to December each year. Arrivals and departures are fixed and on set days as listed below except where specified. Therefore you can only volunteer during specific periods as listed below (for 12 nights, 26 nights, or longer).
