To join as an intern, there is a one off £195 GB pounds application payment, and then once your place has been confirmed on the programme (after zoom or Skype interview/reference checking), you will be asked to make a deposit of £120 GB pounds which will be returned to you at the successful completion of your internship (if you leave early/don’t complete your internship, this will not be returned).  Your food and lodging costs are all covered as part of our internship, as well as training and airport drop off (for airport arrivals, you are responsible for your own taxi/Uber to the rescue centre)

It is mandatory for you to take out medical/accident insurance for the duration of your time on the programme.

Payment Terms

To secure your placement on the project, you will need to complete and submit the application form with your application payment of £195. If for some reason your application is not accepted, we will reimburse this payment fully. However, for those who are accepted, you will need to make a deposit payment of £120 GB pounds which will be returned to you at the successful completion of your internship (if you leave early/don’t complete your internship, this will not be returned).

Once we have confirmed your place, you will receive an information package on the project background, your role as an intern, the work you will do, suggested items to bring, how to travel there and so on.

Interns are requested to come for at least a two-month stay (8 weeks) from February to October with an option to extend to 6 months. That way, you will be able to wean any babies that you raise during the baby season (April to August). Between November and January, we require a 4 week minimum commitment.

We do accept interns for six months or longer should you wish to engage in such a programme. Interns interested in pursuing tenures of six months or longer will be given special consideration toward working in Bear Rehab though other criteria – so please do apply!
