Project Costs
For 2026, the cost will be: £1180 in the Jungle Studio (1 adult and 1 child), £1650 in the Jungle Cabin (2 adults and 2 kids) and £1710 in the Jungle Bungalow (2 adults and 2 kids) and for families of 5 or 6, an additional charge will be incurred.

The Jungle Bungalow can hold up to 6 people, the Cabin 4-5 people, and the Studio 2-3 people (also possible 2 adults, 2 small children).
This cost includes three meals a day, private family accommodation, snacks for patrols, equipment (for patrols), and guides during the volunteering and training and all programme activities for one week.
What is not included is your airfare and transportation to the project, lodging in San Jose, travel/medical insurance and personal expenses. It is mandatory for you to take out travel and medical insurance for the duration of the project.
Payment Terms & How to Apply
To book your family volunteer programme at our Deep Ecology & Sea Turtle Family volunteer programme, one adult will need to fill out the application form on behalf of the whole family under APPLY NOW – please provide full names and DOBs for the other family members in the motivation letter section. You will be directed to our Deep Ecology & Sea turtle programme application form – so please select your family dates and proceed.
The payment is split into a downpayment which secures your family booking and the balance payment which is due 1 month before arrival. We are also happy to arrange payment plans if need be – please enquire.
Downpayment to secure your family booking:
The downpayment to book your family depends on adult/child numbers – please email here victoria.mcneil@workingabroad.com and we can confirm downpayment for different family configurations and send you the secure payment link to secure your family booking.
If for some reason, your family application is not accepted/or if we are fully booked, we would reimburse your application payment fully. Once your family place is confirmed on the programme, you will receive further detailed information and suggested items to bring, transfers, info on the programme and things to do in free time and so on.
Project Dates

Families generally book for one week on any of the dates listed below where we have confirmed family options available. Family dates run Sunday to Sunday from July to September for families, although to note turtle season is July to January. Outside of these dates, you will be not be involved in any turtle work.
