"Lifelong connections with so many animals and the people who worked there with me"
Isadora Shanti - August 2024
Working at the project was tough physically and emotionally but amazing because of the support I had from everyone, even if that was necessarily tough at times. I never thought Id be able to do what I did when I was there and be in the presence of such amazing and powerful creatures I’ve only ever seen from a distance. I experienced a lot of loss but made some lifelong connections with so many animals and the people who worked there with me. There wasn’t one person or animal I wasn’t able to bond with. You have a GREAT group working there now! And I’m so excited about my career in wildlife rehabilitation!

"Working with the animals in the baby season is very busy but also very rewarding"

"I loved it so much I extended my 5 month stay to nearly a full year and I’d go back time and time again if I could."
Emilia Monks
The choice to become a volunteer at this project has been the best decision I’ve made so far. I have made so many friends from all across the world since starting here and spending so much time together through the busy baby season really does make it feel like one big family. The skills and knowledge I have learnt here surpass all of my theoretical learning at university and gave me an in depth look into the career path of animal rehabilitation. The staff are all amazing and are so knowledgable in the field and you can really see everyone’s devotion to the organisation. It is long hours and very hard work but when you see the animals that you are getting to help it makes it all so worth it to see them recover and be released. I loved it so much I extended my 5 month stay to nearly a full year and I’d go back time and time again if I could.
