Project Costs 

You can join the Amazon Ecology Internship & Mixed Internship from 1 week up to 6 months in duration. As an intern, the cost starts at 1 week:  £615, 2 weeks: £1035, 3 weeks: £1205, 1 month: £1375, 2 months: £2395, 3 months: £3095.

You can join the Wildlife Rehabilitation internship programme for 2 to 6 months in duration.  The cost starts at: £2300 for 2 months, £3075 for 3 months, £3325 for 4 months.

Costs for different lengths of stay can be discussed when applying.

Education AmazonWhat is included:

  • Transportation to and from the airport/bus station
  • Transportation to and from the research centre
  • Food, snacks and drinks whilst at the centre
  • Lodging and bedding (but no towel), and other necessities
  • Lodging in PEM if you have to stay 1 night on either side of your arrival/departure

What is not included:

  • Airfares to and from Puerto Maldonado
  • Travel/medical insurance
  • Vaccinations
  • Personal expenses

It is mandatory for you to take out travel and medical insurance for the duration of the project.

Payment Terms 

You will need to fill out the online application form – to secure a placement on the project, please complete and submit the form including your application payment of £225. If for some reason, your application is not accepted, we will reimburse this payment fully. However, for those who are accepted, the full amount needs to be paid two months before arrival.

Project Dates

Interns need to arrive and leave on a Tuesday or Friday, as these are the best days logistically for arrivals/orientation. The dates listed below are Tuesdays, but if a Friday arrival suits you better, that is fine (we can accommodate every Tuesday/Friday arrival of each week).  Please specify your preferred start date/duration in the motivation letter section when you apply.
