Project Costs

The programme is based on a 7 day/6 night itinerary (but we can also offer 10 days or 2 weeks if you wanted) and the cost is £987 per adult, £837 (7-16 yrs old) and £495 (2-6 yrs old), and includes all programme activities, 3 meals a day, lodging, plus domestic return flights to and from Male-Naifaru island (not international flights to and from your home country, this is separate). Arrival dates are flexible throughout the year, so we can accommodate to suit your arrival date into Male from abroad. Also diving certification or fun diving as an add on is also available if you wanted to do that too.

What is not included is your international travel to and from the Maldives, personal expenses, any visa costs, and your own health and travel insurance.

Payment Terms & How to Apply

To book your family volunteer programme at our Maldives family volunteer programme, one adult will need to fill out the application form on behalf of the whole family under APPLY NOW – please provide full names and DOBs for the other family members in the motivation letter section.  You will be directed to our Maldives Island Sea turtle programme application form – so please select your family dates and proceed.

The payment is split into a downpayment which secures your family booking and the balance payment which is due as 25% after booking and 75 % of the balance 2 months before arrival.  We are also happy to arrange payment plans if need be – please enquire.

Downpayment to secure your family booking:
The downpayment to book your family depends on adult/child numbers –  please email here victoria.mcneil@workingabroad.com and we can confirm downpayment for different family configurations and send you the secure payment link to secure your family booking.

If for some reason, your family application is not accepted/or if we are fully booked, we would reimburse your application payment fully. Once your family place is confirmed on the programme, you will receive further detailed information and suggested items to bring, transfers, info on the programme and things to do in free time and so on.

Project Dates

Your family can join for one week upwards on any of the dates listed on our website. The weekends in the Maldives are Friday and Saturday, making Sunday the first working day of the week.   We would recommend that you book your flight to fly into Malé to arrive in the morning, so that you can catch a same day domestic flight to Naifaru and for your departure, that you book a flight to fly out in the evening.
